IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. IELTS tests your ability to communicate in English. The quality and security of IELTS is internationally recognised and trusted because it is managed by three reputable, international organisations: British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).  Hence, IELTS results are used by organisations to assess your language skills when you want to study, work or live in an English-speaking country. 

You can choose from two types of IELTS test: Academic or General Training, depending on whether you want to study, work or migrate. Both modules are made up of four parts – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. IELTS results are graded on the unique IELTS 9-band scale.

The test covers the full range of ability from non-user to expert user.

Expressway Anglais provides two IELTS Preparation courses: IELTS General Training Preparation and IELTS Academic Preparation.

To join the Expresway Anglais IELTS General Training Preparation course, you need to have a level of English at B1 on the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages (Intermediate). The course lasts up to 12 weeks, and as with all my courses you can normally start any time.

To join the Expressway Anglais IELTS Academic Preparation course, you need to have a level of English at B2 on the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages (Upper-Intermediate).  This course also lasts up to 12 weeks, and you can normally start any time.

Students in both courses have practice in all 4 parts of the examination – Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. This practice includes examination tasks and mock exams.
